Mission Statement

The Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska, and Kansas Physician Recruitment & Retention Network is a “model of excellence” whose commitment to collaboration, education, and professionalism is reflected in its membership.  Through networking and educational development, we seek to insure integrity and maintain a selective, knowledgeable approach to recruitment and retention in a cost effective and quality conscious manner.  MINK strives to improve the overall quality and accessibility of healthcare in the communities we serve.

Bylaws

Article 1.         Name

The name of this organization shall be the Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska & Kansas Physician Recruitment and Retention Network, also known as MINK Physician Recruitment and Retention Network.

Article 2.        Membership

Membership shall be open to individuals who are directly involved in and have primary responsibility for the recruitment, retention, or acquisition of physicians and/or other medical staff, and who are employed to do so by a hospital, hospital system, clinic, practice, managed care organization, or not-for-profit health care association.  Members can be employed by or contracted employees of member entity.

The Membership Chairperson will review all applications for membership.  If the Membership Chairperson has any questions regarding an application, the application will be forwarded to the Executive Committee for review.  If Committee is in discord, the application must be presented on the agenda of the next scheduled meeting and voted upon by members in attendance of meeting before membership will be granted.  A simple majority vote of the membership present is required for approval.

“Member in Transition” – For the member who has been active in MINK for 1 – 2 years, one year of membership will be available at ½ the annual fee.

MINK members who have been active for 3 + years, membership will be at no cost for 1 year.

Article 3.        Purpose

The Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska & Kansas Physician Recruitment and Retention Network is a team of individuals dedicated to the personal and professional development of its members.  It is committed to provide members with opportunity to grow and enhance development through educational meetings, forums that encourage networking, the exchange of ideas, and access to informational resources.

MINK seeks to establish an educational and collaborative relationship with residency and fellowship programs.

MINK works to create awareness of job opportunities by serving as a resource to residents and fellows in their job search.

Article 4.        Meetings

Meetings shall be called quarterly, but may be scheduled more or less frequently at the discretion of the Executive Committee, with a minimum of two weeks notice to the general membership.  The annual meeting will be held in the 4th Quarter of the year.  Meeting content shall be directed by the needs of the membership at large.

Article 5.        Dues

Annual dues shall be established and adjusted annually by the Executive Committee, and will be designed to cover the actual expenses of the organization.  Membership renewals are to be received by February 1st and are current from January to December of the year received.  Dues cannot be prorated.

Article 6.        Expenditures

All expenditures outside of normal operating expenses require majority approval of the Executive Committee.  A treasury report will be issued to all members with the minutes of each meeting.

Article 7.        Election of Executive Committee Officers

Members will elect a President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer by majority vote.  Officers will be elected at the annual meeting, based upon nominations solicited two months prior to annual meeting date.  Elected officers will serve one-year term, and President will serve as an ex-officio member of the Executive Committee for one year following term of presidency.  No elected officer shall serve more than two consecutive years in the same position, unless approved by majority vote.

In the event an officer must vacate their position as officer prior to their term expiring, the executive committee will identify a replacement to fulfill the remainder of their term.

Article 8.        Duties of Officers

President: Shall set agenda, convene, and preside over meetings of the Membership and Executive Committee.  President shall also assist in planning and implementation of educational programs for organization.

Vice President: Shall assume duties of the President in the event of absence and shall be responsible for assisting in planning and projects for the organization and an educational retreat.

Secretary: Shall keep minutes of meetings, notify membership of meeting dates, and provide copy of minutes to membership.  Secretary shall maintain accurate membership register to be published no less than once a year.

Treasurer: Shall be responsible for managing the funds and debts of organization and provide a report to the secretary for publication with meeting minutes.

Article 9.        Standing Committees

The president shall name the committees and appoint the chairs, who will provide a report at the meetings.

The following shall be standing committees:

Ø Marketing

Ø      Legislative

Ø      Education

The executive committee, on an as needed basis, may create ad hoc committees.  The goal will be to have equal representation from each of the four states (Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska, and Kansas) on all committees.

Article 10.       Amendments

The bylaws of the organization may be amended when deemed necessary by a majority vote of the membership.  Proposed amendments will be provided to all members for input and voting opportunity.
